Main research interests
History of the Catholic Church in the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries with a particular regard for the Roman Inquisition; Religious, Cultural and social history of Italy and France in the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries, with a particular regard for the Age of the French Revolution; Political and religious implications a psychological doctrine: animal magnetism; Feudalism in early modern Italy; Giambattista Vico’s thought and its reception.
Responsibilities at the ISPF
Member of the Institute Council; Responsible for the editorial activities; Co-director of the digital journal Laboratorio dell’ISPF and the digital book series I Quaderni del LAB; Member of the editorial board of the Bollettino del Centro di Studi Vichiani; Responsible for the cooperation with the Neapolitan section of the National Institute for the history of Risorgimento; Member of the ISPF Coordination for the Celebrations of the 350° anniversary of Giambattista Vico (1668-2018); Co-responsible of the project “Harmonia Universalis”, in cooperation with the Institut d’Histoire Moderne et contemporaine of the Univeristé Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne.
