Sulle tracce di Rocinante

Ciclo seminariale su temi e figure della storia della filosofia iberica

Cycle of seminars

The seminar cycle entitled Sulle tracce di Rocinante was born in the wake of the Iberian and Ibero-American Philosophy Review of the same name published by the ISPF (www.rocinante.it), which will be twenty years old in 2025. The cycle ‒ which will begin on 7 October at the ISPF Library and conclude on 13 December ‒ intends to retrace some significant themes that have marked the history of Iberian philosophy through the analysis of the thought and works of the main exponents of Spanish and Portuguese philosophy. In the six seminars planned, we will thus discuss the confrontation between Francisco Sanchez and Giambattista Vico on the role of grammar in the cognitive process, the conception of death and nihilism in Ganivet and Unamuno, the metaphysics of life of Ortega y Gasset, the peculiar realism of Xavier Zubiri, the poetic reason of María Zambrano and, finally, the presence of the philosophy of religion in the horizon of Iberian culture.
