The overturning of powers

This article by the philosopher Roberto Esposito, professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, was originally published in the magazine ‘L’Espresso’ on 5 April 2020. It prompts a reflection on the balance or disequilibrium that is being established between powers and the languages of powers in this moment of emergency. Medical competences and political competences risk becoming unbalanced, allowing a confusion between levels that in fact prevents proper differentiated co-functioning.
