A society without expressions

Facial expressions are an important communicative tool not for humans only, but also for other species. Indeed through them the intentions and the emotional state of an individual are communicated. Due to pandemic crisis, social distancing and wearing masks became necessary in order to protect our health. The cover-up of a part of our face, in particular that of our facial expressions, leads to a different way of communication which could change our way to handle the interpersonal relationships and facilitates, at the same time, social distancing.
