He graduated in Philosophy at University of Studies in Milan on 27th April 1979. From 9th May 1979 to 30th June 1986 he carried on a research activity, as regular grantee of rewarded assignments, at the Institute of History of Philosophy at first and, later on, at the Philosophy Department at the University of Studies in Milan. In the years from 1988 to 1999 he brought ahead his scientific activity, as regular allottee of research tasks, at CSPF-CNR (Milan) where, later on, he worked as temporary transfer teacher from 1st September 2000 to 31st August 2002. On 22nd March 2006 he took his Ph.D. in Historic Studies at University of Studies in Trento.
From 1st September 2006 to 31st August 2010, again he is working at the Milan office of ISPF-CNR and, from 1st September 2011 to 31st August 2012 he worked as temporary transfer teacher at the University of Studies in Varese.
From 2000 to 2012 he was assistant professor at the course of History of Biology at the Faculty of Biologic Sciences of the University of Studies in Milan.
Associate fellow from 16th November 2021 at ISPF-CNR (Milan).
He is the scientific coordinator of “National Edition of the Works by Antonio Vallisneri” from 8th March 2000.

Research areas:
His research activities has been concentrated on the divulgation of the scientific knowledge in modern age by means learned periodicals and correspondence; on the illustration of the debate on life science in Italy between the seventeenth and eighteenth century, on its protagonists and on the reference context in which they operated; on the models of historic reconstruction of science; on the editing of Antonio Vallisneri’s works.
